Is SFAS Technology for Waterless Aromatherapy Diffusers a Gimmick? Is It Much Better Than Two-Fluid Diffusers?
Actually, it’s not that mysterious—it’s neither black technology nor a gimmick. Currently, most products for C-end consumers on the market are humidifying aromatherapy diffusers and two-fluid aromatherapy diffusers. Their common features are good appearance, light weight, easy operation, and their diffusion range doesn’t need to be too large. They are sufficient for small-area diffusion such as office desks, bedside tables, or small studies and bedrooms of tens of square meters.
Aromatherapy Diffusers for B-End Users
For B-end users, the main type is high-frequency atomization aromatherapy diffusers. B-end users are mostly hotels, shopping malls, galleries, stores, restaurants, bars, showrooms, etc., which have large areas. Household models are obviously unable to cover these spaces, so high-frequency atomization aromatherapy diffusers are needed. Large commercial aromatherapy diffusers can be connected to central air-conditioning systems to cover thousands of square meters; small ones can be as big as an electric kettle, covering 100 to 200 square meters.
This kind of commercial aromatherapy diffuser can indeed achieve better atomization effect, thereby achieving better diffusion effect. But it’s not omnipotent. If the essential oil itself has a light scent, or the essential oil content is extremely low (mostly solvent), even the best diffuser can’t do much—just like even the best cook can’t make a meal without rice. In addition, factors such as partitions in the space and ventilation direction also need to be considered.

Suggestions for Aromatherapy Spaces and Small Store Owners
This kind of aroma solution for commercial spaces is also part of our business. I often receive consultations from owners of aromatherapy spaces or small stores. Their common feature is that the space is neither too big nor too small, about 100 square meters, and they don’t know if it’s necessary to use a commercial aromatherapy diffuser.
My usual suggestion is: if there are many partitions, there is no need to cover up odors indoors, and there are sufficient staff, then from the perspective of beauty and flexibility, there are many ways to achieve “aroma in the room”. For example, two-fluid aromatherapy diffusers, reed diffusers, and even scented candles are sufficient. You can also regularly change the display and scent.
If you want to be efficient, convenient and hassle-free—needing to take care of it only once a quarter or even half a year—and keep the scent fixed without frequent changes, then a commercial aromatherapy diffuser is a better choice.
